Community Engagement
Through funding from the NIU Great Journeys Strategic Plan the Digital Convergence Lab was able to purchase hardware and software to provide the NIU community with educational experiences focused on new media and technology.
Our goal is to bring members from the surrounding community to the Digital Convergence Lab, the NIU Libraries, and the NIU campus by hosting community workshops, special interest camps, intellectual digitization products, research and development opportunities to "strengthen and extend NIU’s regional impact".
Check out our Community Workshops, and our Game Development Lab for after school programs and summer camps for children in the community.
The DCL is proud to participate in STEMfest each October at the NIU Convocation Center.
We are the pround founders and hosts of the NIU Game Developers Club. Open to anyone that is interested in developing games with like-minded people! We mostly meet on Mondays, but join our Facebook group to get all the latest information. come join us!
