Script a Collecting Game in Unity


Description

Are you interested in video games, learning about scripting or computer programming? Have you ever wanted to develop your own video game? Learn the basics of how to script your own farming style game, using professional software by Unity.

Instruction will include a combination of live online interactions with NIU faculty and staff, along with recorded videos and downloadable step-by-step instruction.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn Unity design software
  • Import assets into Unity
  • Create Objects with shapes
  • Move through unity with first person controllers
  • Script collecting code
  • Learn the essentials of starting your first video game

Location: This is an online workshop delivered by Northern Illinois University, Digital Convergence Lab. To access this workshop you will need a stable internet connection and a computer that meets the computer hardware and software requirements. Students need to download the free version of Unity prior to the workshop. Download here!
