Esports Online Bootcamp
Dates: August 2 - 6, 2021
Audience: This camp is recommended for students grades 7 – 12.
NIU is proud to announce our fourth annual Esports summer bootcamp. Do you like to play video games or watch gamers on YouTube or Twitch.tv? Find how you can play video games competitively in college, learn about esports careers, and advance your video game skills. Campers are responsible to download and purchase Rocket League, Fortnite, League of Legends, and Twitch.TV.
Instruction will include a combination of live online interactions with NIU faculty and staff, along with recorded videos, and downloadable step-by-step instruction.
Skill level: Beginner to intermediate
In this camp you will:
- Play popular video games
- Learn more about competitive esports
- Explore collegiate and professional opportunities
- Practice team building, strategy and competitive gaming skills
- Use Discord for communication with your instructors
- Try your hand at several popular esports games
- Tune into twitch.tv

Time: 12PM to 4PM
Location: This is an online camp delivered by Northern Illinois University, Digital Convergence Lab. To access this camp you will need a stable internet connection and a computer that meets the computer hardware and software requirements. Students will meet in our Discord server, and receive a login for the learning management system before the start of camp.
